Infant Circumcision

Infant Circumcision may lead to death due to heavy loss of blood or any infection from the circumcision area. Circumcision in infants is done mainly within the eight days in the Jewish culture after a baby boy is born. Circumcision should be done at a very early stage to reduce pain. This is of course very painful and shocking. But this does not mean that circumcision at infancy is painless.

Some infants die due to circumcision complications. Most of the babies scream dreadfully during circumcision. Some of them do not scream during circumcision when they are shocked with the pain of circumcision. Often babies are circumcised without any applications of anesthesia during circumcision.

In this case, babies are given pain medication after they are circumcised until ten days or a week till the wound is healed. But these pain medications may not always be 100% effective.

Female circumcision

The process of female circumcision is quite easy and it is very painful. So the patient is given general anesthesia in order to get rid of trauma and pain. But it is usually done without any anesthesia before puberty on girls. Female circumcision is done mostly for religious cause rather than medical cause.

Mostly female circumcisions are practiced in the U.S. and Africa among Christian and Muslim societies. But the human rights association of Asia and Africa says that female circumcision is a violation against women and should be avoided as much as possible.

How is this female circumcision done?
A blunt probe is put into the raphe and swung around the head of the clitoris. This is done in order to remove the clitoris partially or wholly terminating sexual feelings. After this the area is cleaned from contaminant debris or of smegma.
